CHURCH LIFE

Holy Trinity Church Carrickfergus accepts and recognises its responsibilities to develop awareness of the issues which cause children harm and it's obligation to establish and maintain a safe environment for them. As a Church we are committed to reviewing our policy, procedures and practice at regular intervals, at least every three years.

We will endeavour to safeguard children by:

  • Following carefully the procedures laid down for recruitment and selection of workers
  • Providing effective management for workers through supervision, support and training
  • Reporting concerns to the appropriate statutory authority
  • Adopting child protection guidelines through a code of behaviour for workers
  • Sharing information about child protection and good practice with children, parents and workers
  • Ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
  • We will also fulfil our responsibilities to workers by:

  • The provision of effective training
  • The provision of appropriate resources
  • The safeguarding of those who work with children from the consequences of unfounded allegations.

Should you have a concern or suspicion regarding child welfare in the Church, please contact a member of the Church panel, whose details are available on the Notice Boards. Or any of the following statutory agencies:

The local Health Trust Child Protection/Gateway Team
    The PSNI
    The NSPCC

Any Information Supplied Will Be Treated In The Strictest Of Confidence.
